Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Squadwave ("Squadwave," "we," "us") collects when you visit this website or join our waitlist, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you provide.
- Signup context — we note which part of the site you signed up from (for example, whether you were more interested in the short-range or long-range version) so we can understand demand. This is never shared outside our team.
- IP address — processed temporarily to prevent abuse of the signup form (rate-limiting) and, if bot protection is enabled, to verify you're not a bot.
- Cookies — a small cookie remembers your display theme (light/dark). This one is set automatically and doesn't require consent — it's not used for tracking or advertising.
- Basic analytics — if enabled, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. It only gives us aggregate usage numbers like page views.
- Google Analytics — if enabled, and only after you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic (pages viewed, general location at a country/region level, device type). This sets cookies and shares this usage data with Google. We never load Google Analytics before you've accepted — declining, or not answering, means it stays off. You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
2. How we use your information
- To send a one-time confirmation email when you join the waitlist.
- To send occasional updates about Squadwave's development (prototypes, timing, pre-order availability). We won't spam you, and you can stop receiving these at any time.
- To respond if you reply to one of our emails.
- To prevent abuse of our signup form.
- In aggregate, to help decide things like which product line to build first.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run this site, and share only what each one needs to do its job:
- Resend — sends our emails and stores your email on our contact list so we can reach you.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website, and (if enabled) provides bot protection (Turnstile) and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Google — if you've accepted the cookie banner, Google Analytics processes usage data as described above.
We don't share your information with anyone else, and none of these providers may use your data for their own purposes.
4. Your choices
- Cookie preferences — accept or decline Google Analytics anytime via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- Unsubscribe — every update email includes a way to stop receiving future emails, or you can just email us.
- Access or delete your data — email us at squadwave@zhis.eu and we'll remove your email address from our systems.
- California residents — you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.
5. Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you're on the waitlist, or until you ask us to delete it.
6. Children's privacy
Squadwave is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their email, contact us and we'll remove it.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.
8. Where we operate
Squadwave is currently offered only to visitors in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and company evolve. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
